We started this year ready to browse the sales in a tier 2 which quickly changed to a tier 3 . Retail shops were allowed to stay open even in tier 3, which for those sales bargains is a perfect way to start the new year. Children and parents got ready to go back to school and many who hadn't already, returned to work on 4th January sporting new outfits from either the sales or their Christmas gifts.
HOWEVER...…..then came another full country lockdown. Little did we know that those few days and for some, the only day back at work or school would be the last for a while. So work outfits and school uniform back in the wardrobe. Some prefer to still get dressed in comfy and stylish clothing even when in lockdown, with others (myself included) relishing the fact we do not have to don any make up or wear a bra.
This week as the days have changed and progressed for the first week of 2021 our OOTD's have also adapted to show the different ideas to get you through another lockdown.
Our first very optimistic OOTD was the perfect sales shopping outfit on Sunday 3rd January. We chose fold down over the knee boots by Duo with a flat heel to keep you comfortable while walking around the sales. For a casual style but still ultra stylish we have our unworn Mos Mosh jeans with tiny beaded deatil on the pockets to keep that Christmas sparkle. Add a warm cashmere top by luxury designer Brunello Cucinelli with a classic mac by Moschino in a neutral nude completing the outfit.
Miu Miu Black Leather Trousers Size 10 £220, Diego Reiga White Shirt Size 8 £55, Tara Jarmon Coat Size 10 £145, Dolce & Gabbana Miss Camp Bag £435 (In the shop only), 9ct White Gold Hoop Earrings £75, Russell & Bromley Black & White Pumps Size 4 £65.
For our first day back to work outfit of course we had to choose something ultra sleek and stylish to make you feel a million dollars, to get you through your Monday. The hard slog of returning to work after the Christmas and New year holiday is always very difficult, so why not wear your most glamorous items like the leather Miu Miu trousers we chose, and match with a classic yet out there Diego Reiga crisp white shirt. As you wont be used to being on your feet or perhaps wearing shoes other than slippers we chose these comfortable and stylish pumps by luxury footwear brand Russell & Bromley. For a bit of sparkle but not to OTT add some hoop earrings or simple studs, like these 9ct white gold hoops. To carry all your work items and with a super comfy slouch we added this luxury Miss Camp bag by premium designer Dolce & Gabbana. Of course as you are leaving the house for your commute or walk to work wrap up warm in a thick winter coat like our Tara Jarmon luxury wool coat to keep the at home by the fire snugness.
We only got to OOTD number 3 of the year before we were entered into another national lockdown. Of course we are by now used to the lockdown style and how to cope. We chose these casual paint splattered look jeans by Ralph Lauren for laid back style at home. We added a really cosy thick jumper by Malene Birger to give you some lockdown comfort. Whether you go out for your daily exercise or just potter around the house or garden these comfortable Car Shoe loafers will take you through the day inside and out while keeping you stylish but comfy.
Many people are able to continue working from home throughout the lockdown, so to help you navigate those video conference calls we have devised an outfit to keep you looking professional but still comfortable at home. We started with a brightly coloured shirt by Paul Smith to help cheer up the lockdown low and keep the top half of you looking sharp and businesslike when on those conference calls. on the bottom we added a pair of casual Mos Mosh jeans with a beautiful pink ribbon belt to match with the pink of the shirt to hopefully make you smile not only in the January gloom but also for another day of lockdown. Again we have finished the outfit with these ultra comfortable car shoe loafers which are a luxury step up from fluffy socks and slippers.
Another day another lockdown. This outfit can be worn if you are just crashing on the sofa to binge on Nextflix, but also the top gives you that smarter upper body look again perfect for those online calls. To keep you relaxed we have these L.K Bennett stretchy trousers and added this smart casual grey Karen Millen top which is also stretchy and comfortable with a smart edge. To complete the look if you prefer not to wear slippers we have these stylish Russell & Bromley suede black flat pumps which will also take you outside for your daily walk or while essential food shopping.
Another Stylish but relaxed lockdown outfit. This is perfect for your essential shopping and being relaxed in the house but still allows you to feel human, when all you want to do is slob out in your PJs. These Mos Mosh jeans are brand new with tags on but a great second hand price and of course in mint condition. We have matched a D.Exterior floaty grey top to add comfort but a bit of luxury and finished the outfit with these casual suede Ash wedge boots.
Our final Lockdown outfit of the week is this relaxed and comfortable style. We have started the look with the slouchy L.K Bennett trousers with stretchy waistband and added a cute and casual top by whistles. For any outings you need to make you can slip on these flat Russell & Bromley pumps to do your chores and run your Covid safe errands.
So which outfit is your favourite, mine is definitely the back to work look even though it was only for one day, as well as the working from home look with the bright pink Paul Smith shirt. Throughout the week we have managed to re use a few different items to show that one item can be used for multiple outfit options and different activities. All the items you see from our outfits of the week are available on our website and in our shop, so you can click the links under each photo or visit our website for all our amazing pre loved designer items at www.myexwardrobe.co.uk
