Slow sustainable fashion is the polar opposite to counteract the current fast fashion craze. Slow fashion stands for Quality, Fair-trade for all party’s and environmentally friendly.

My Ex Wardrobe stands strongly for slow sustainable fashion and we had the HUGE privilege to take part in Exeter’s first ever slow fashion event , hosted in Exeter’s beautiful cathedral, the amazing centre point and heart of Exeter.
So how does My Ex Wardrobe fit in?
The main concept of slow fashion is the quality behind the garments and they usually cost more. The clothing is normally well designed and produced and are investment pieces that are made to last a lifetime longer than the cheaper items of the Fast fashion trend.
One of the biggest ways to celebrate and support slow ethical fashion is buying second hand clothing, which is were we come in here at My Ex Wardrobe. We ensure that we provide stunning, quality fashion for an affordable second hand price to give barely used or sometimes unused items a new lease of life.
During the evening we were able to vote for our favourite up and coming sustainable fashion designer and awarding them the amazing £750 prize.

The fantastic and much deserved winner is the designer Davy J who designs swimsuits from regenerated nylon yarn from fishing nets, so an amazing way to bring sustainable slow fashion into the future.
So among the champagne, wonderful goodie bags, spectacular clothing and eco friendly retailers we learnt so much about slow fashion and its benefits. I urge you to follow this eco changing trend and next time you go to purchase a new item of fashion, try to really embrace items of quality and really discover where your items are made and how? along with what material, natural? Or man Made?. Ask yourself ‘how long will this item last?’ , ‘Has it been fairly traded?’, ‘Is the item recycled, repurposed or reused?’
Other ways to support the slow fashion movement is to buy vintage clothing, redesign your old clothes or investing in pieces that withstand the test of time and last longer.
Our items here at My Ex Wardrobe are all second hand quality high end luxury designer and high end high street items with plenty of life left in them. Our items offer the quality, luxury, recycled and affordable longevity of slow fashion.
